Privacy Policy
Last Updated: April 15, 2026
Skyli ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the information handled when you use the Skyli browser extension and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Our architecture is built on the principle of Privacy by Design, meaning your sensitive data stays under your control on your own device.
1. Google User Data Policy Compliance
The Service's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
- Allowed Use: We only use data obtained from Google APIs to provide user-facing features, such as receipt extraction.
- No Sale or Advertising Use: We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.
- No Third-Party Transfer: We do not share, transfer, or disclose Google user data to any third party.
- Limited Human Access: We do not allow humans to read your Google user data except when you explicitly ask for support, when needed for security or abuse investigation, or when required by applicable law.
2. Information Handling (On-Device Principle)
Unlike traditional services, Skyli does not require you to create an account or provide a password.
- Extracted Data: Transactional data (date, merchant, amount) identified by our AI is processed within your browser session.
- Email Content: We do not store your raw email content on our servers.
3. Use of AI and Automated Processing
We utilize Large Language Models (LLMs) to parse unstructured email text into structured data.
- Local Automated Processing: The automated extraction workflow is designed so that Google user data remains within your controlled environment and is not provided to outside processors.
- No Training on Personal Data: We do not use your personal information or email content to train our AI models.
4. Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure of Google User Data
We do not share, transfer, or disclose Google user data to any third party.
- No Third-Party Recipients: Google user data is not provided to advertisers, analytics companies, data brokers, external AI providers, cloud processors, or other outside parties.
- No Sale or Commercial Disclosure: We do not sell, license, trade, or otherwise commercially disclose Google user data.
- Legal Exception Only: If disclosure is ever required by applicable law, regulation, or valid legal process, we will limit the disclosure to what is legally required.
5. Data Collection and Usage
Since no account is required, we collect only minimal technical information to maintain the Service:
- Technical Logs: We may collect anonymized usage data (e.g., feature interactions, app version) and crash reports to improve performance and fix bugs.
- No Sale of Data: We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
- User Content: You retain full ownership of your data. Deleting the Skyli extension from your browser will remove locally cached processing data stored by the extension.
- Technical Data: Anonymized log data is retained for a limited period (up to 12 months) for security and analytical purposes.
7. Data Security
- Local-First Security: We prioritize local processing to minimize data exposure.
- Encryption: Any necessary communication between the Service and our infrastructure is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
8. Your Rights and Choices
- Control: Since we do not maintain user accounts, you have ultimate control over your data by managing your browser settings and local storage.
- Inquiries: If you have questions regarding your privacy or data rights (including CCPA or GDPR inquiries), please contact us directly.
